Government Vocational Higher Secondary School for Girls, Nadakkavu popularly known as GVHSS for Girls Nadakkavu. GVHSS is the only vocational higher secondary school for girls in Kozhikode. The School's main aim is to provide quality education to girls of lower income families.
In the year 1942 school became high school. Vocational Higher Secondary Education section was started in the year 1990 to provide vocational training and education to girls studying in higher secondary classes. Currently school has 4 sections, UP (Primary and Middle School class 1 to 7), HS (Classes 8 to 10), HSS (11th and 12th), VHSE (Vocational).
The School became part of the PRISM project in 2013, where private stakeholders provide funds to the school development. The School has top class infrastructure and building due to funding from Government, the PTA's, MP's and the MLA's.
School provides accommodation facilities within the campus to girls during the exam time so that they can stay back study till late.
