About NEET SS 2022 – Super Specialty Courses Entrance Examination
NEET SS is an eligibility-cum-ranking examination, a single entrance examination to various DM, M.Ch. and DrNB Courses as per the Indian Medical Council Act 2019.
Please note NEET SS is a single window entrance examination for all DM, MCh and DrNB Super Speciality courses in India. No other entrance examination, either at state or institution level, shall be valid for entry to DM/MCh/DrNB Super specialty courses as per the Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Act, 2016 w.e.f. 2017 admission session.

Scope of NEET SS
National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Super Specialty (NEET SS) exam is a single eligibility cum entrance examination for admission to Super Specialty Courses. NEET SS is for admission to Super Specialty courses and will include the following
- All DM, and MCh courses in the country including all Private Medical Colleges, Institutions & Universities/Deemed Universities all across the country
- All DM, and MCh courses at Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions.
- All DrNB Super-Specialty Courses (except Direct 6 Years DrNB Courses)
Institutions not filled through NEET SS
The following Medical institutions in India are not covered by centralized admissions for DM and MCh seats through NEET SS
- AIIMS, New Delhi
- PGIMER, Chandigarh
- JIPMER, Puducherry
- NIMHANS, Bengaluru
- Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum
No State Government/Private Medical college/Universities shall be conducting any separate entrance for admission to their DM/MCh Courses.
Who can Apply for NEET SS Exam?
Candidates who are in possession of recognized post graduate medical Degree/Provisional Pass Certificate (MD/MS/DNB) or an equivalent recognized qualification or are likely to be in possession of the same by the prescribed cut-off date for a particular admission session in accordance with eligible feeder specialty qualifications for super specialty courses, can apply for NEET-SS.
Qualifying Criteria and Validity
Candidates with the 50th percentile or above shall be declared as qualified in NEET-SS exam within their respective specialty. NEET Result is valid for the current admission session only.

NEET SS Exam Pattern and Syllabus
Pattern and Duration
- A candidate can choose a maximum of two super specialty courses for which his/her broad specialty qualification is eligible, at the time of online submission of the application form.
- Pattern of examination : 40% of the questions shall be from the feeder broad specialty course and the remaining 60% shall be from the super specialty course selected by the candidate at the time online submission of application form.

- The question paper will have only single correct response. The exam will only contain multiple choice questions, each with four (4) options and only one (1) correct/best response.
- There will be a separate question paper for all the specialties mentioned below
- The level of examination will be of PG exit level in the concerned specialty as per the latest curriculum notified / adopted by Medical Council of India in the concerned MD/MS qualification.
- The duration of the test : 3½ hours ( if 1 super speciality course/ clubbed group than 1 hour 45 minutes)
- Each correct response will carry 4 marks
- Negative Marking: 25% negative marking for incorrect answers.
- No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions.
- A candidate can appear for only one specialty.

NEET SS Counseling Important Dates
There shall be a common counseling for all Superspecialty seats (DM, MCh and DrNB Super specialty) of NEET-SS 2022 at National Level to be conducted by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Government of India.
