On a national level, ICSE and CBSE are the two most prominent education boards. Schools that are affiliated to both these boards provide top-quality education that is in accordance with a curriculum that conforms to rigorously high standards. However, it should be noted here that both the ICSE and CBSE boards have vastly different syllabi. So, when choosing a school for your child, it would be helpful to understand the direction their future education or their career path will take. For example, the CBSE syllabus is more practical for those seeking to pursue higher education in the sciences or engineering, while the ICSE syllabus is a better choice for those seeking to pursue higher education in the arts or the social sciences.
So, to summarise, there is no objective yardstick to measure better or worse, but rather, the difference in syllabi as well as focus on subjects are what should be a determining factor in your choice of schools. This article talks about the differences between both the ICSE and CBSE boards. Do have a look at it. It’ll give you a better idea of how the two systems are like.

Every parent has to go through a big task of choosing the right board of education fortheir children. Obviously, a board plays an important role in shaping every child’s future.
Many parents get confused whether they should admit their child in CBSE or ICSE?
ICSE vs CBSE: Difference Between Their Syllabus!
CBSE syllabus lays emphasis on the theoretical concepts and ICSE lays emphasis onthe practical knowledge.
ICSE has three mandatory subjects for 10th Grade students: English, Social Science(History, Civics and Geography) and a Second Language.
CBSE mandates six subjects for class 10th: English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science,
Social Science, Vocational Subject (additional course)
For Senior Secondary level (Class 12th), whether you should go for CBSE or ICSE,
English will always remain the compulsory subject.
ICSE vs CBSE Syllabus which is better and why?
If you opt for CBSE board, which most of the students prefer, then you have a hugeadvantage while appearing in entrance exams. All the entrance exams conducted in India are based on CBSE Syllabus. Exams include IIT JEE, NEET gives more weightage to NCERT books which covers the CBSE Board syllabus. CBSE Syllabus ismuch easier than any other board.
ICSE Syllabus is tougher when compared to CBSE because of the detailed study of all the subjects of ICSE Board. But ICSE Syllabus provides more practical knowledge and it aims to build analytical skills in students. This board has an advantage for the students who wish to appear for the TOEFL Exam. ICSE does not allow Hindi as their medium of instruction giving your child an advantage in spoken and written English.
I hope this information helps you make an informed choice for the best future of your child.
Whether you choose ICSE or CBSE board, Ekya schools can bring out the best in your child. They are ranked among the top ICSE board schools as well as top CBSE board schools in Bangalore .
Their schools have a host of features that make them different, but the foundational feature which sets them apart is their Curriculum. They deliver exemplary educational content that is on par with the global curriculum – built by an in-house curriculum team who also ensure that learning is fun-filled, contemporary and meaningful. Your child gets the best irrespective of the board of education chosen.
The teaching methodology adopted by the schools, children arrive at an understanding of a concept or idea by themselves, instead of offering a said understanding to them and evaluating them on how well they remember it. This places them among the best schools in Bangalore.
Ekya Schools also have various assessment systems that give children multiple
opportunities to express what they know and understand. This is crucial because, in the end, final or term-end exams require the application of learning rather than a simple reproduction of facts.
Hence, Ekya’s assessment pattern is designed to keep track of the learning pulse of each child which helps teachers fortify learning as and when gaps are observed.
With the teaching and assessment model as deeply researched to be beneficial and highly fruitful as Ekya's, your child can make the most of the syllabus taught with practical application as well as develop personally through the engaging extracurricular activities and dwell deep into and understand his/her interests.
Irrespective of the board you chose, if you are from Bangalore, I would recommend Ekya Schools for the best and brightest future of your child.

The main differences are that CBSE is highly structured and more skill-oriented and authorized by the govt, all the nationalized exams are based on the CBSE board whereas, ICSE on other hand is organized by yet another board which is CISCE.
