It's little tough to use water colours for kids as they are used to crayons and oil pastels. So one thing that you can do in order to make your child good at water colour painting is that you can buy pencile water colours. They are same as pencil colours but after colouring, water is applied on the sheet. It gives the same texture as water colour. It will help your child to get used to of water colours. Then gradually with time, you can swaitch to water colours for beginners. Let your child do whatever they want to do with water colour. Once they will become comfortable with the use of water colour, it will become easier for the kid to do water colour painting.

Painting is one of the best activities to engage kids. But every parent has a concern that what things we have to keep in mind when our kid started using watercolours. So below are the few tips that should be kept in mind when kids started using water colours-
1. Use a tray-
To prevent spillage always put colours on a tray. You can use any type of tray for this purpose.
2. Wet the paint-
whenever they start painting, always wet the paint first as it makes the paint glide onto the paper so much easier.
3. Give them a small sheet to paint-
In starting, kids always experiment with water colours and waste more sheets. So, to prevent paper wastage cut the paper in half so that size becomes more manageable to kids and they waste less.
