Tooth rot happens while food sources containing carbs (sugars and starches), like bread, grains, milk, pop, natural products, cakes, or candy are left on the teeth. Microorganisms that live in the mouth digest these food varieties, transforming them into acids. The microbes, corrosive, food flotsam and jetsam, and spit consolidate to shape plaque, which sticks to the teeth. The acids in plaque break down the lacquer surface of the teeth, making openings in the teeth called pits.
