Reading two books at a time, is not an issue, it totally depends on the person reading, whether he/she is able to maintain time for both books and they are not confusing or diverting there mind, as usually people like to read one book at a time with full attention and devoting all their time and energy to it. But people can always read books of two different genres at a time if they cant decide which one to go for and they can give their undivided attention to both books. it totally depends on a person.

Most of the people prefer reading one book at a time because they have the urge to finish it at the earliest. They develop their mind so much in a story that they can't wait to reach at its end by dividing their reading time between two books. But, it's completely okay to read two books at a time. Both carry different genres and both are entertaining in their ways. At last, it all depends upon the reader's ability and intensity of interest he has for reading the book. If he has enough time to read two books at a time, then he can set different timings for each book or he can read as per his mood.
